Roles and Responsibilities:

The community Council represents the local community on a wide range of matters, liaising with and making representations to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, the Welsh Government, South Wales Police and many other organisations on a regular basis. It has a statutory right to be consulted on some matters, notably planning applications, highway and other environmental issues.

When do we meet?

We meet every third Thursday once a month which lasts no more than 2 hours at a time. The Community Council does not usually meet in the month of August unless urgent business needs to be considered.

Aim and Vision:

We simply want for both communities to thrive and be proud of the villages that all the residents live in.

We deal with current and past decisions about developing both communities along with feedback from some members of the community.  It is also a legal requirement to set the precept each year in order to fund current and future projects from road improvements to maintaining our parks. Although, this is not an exhaustive list.

The Council is responsible for a range of local amenities and services.  It also supports, normally through grants, a number of organisations who provide local services and facilities.
The Council currently manages the following:
*Cwmllynfell Cemetery
*Rhiwfawr Park
*Llynfell Park
*Grass Cutting
*Christmas Lights
*The Rushlands
*Rhiwfawr Sports Field

The Community Council also provides grants during the year which can be accessed via an application form. Please refer to grants section on this website for full information on how to apply.
